Kahnawake Gaming Commission

An Indian reserve in Canada which has become famous for awarding gaming licenses to online gambling providers across the world.

The Kahnawake Gaming Commission operates from the Mohawk territory of Kahnawake in Quebec, Canada. It functions as a licensing and regulatory authority for online gambling sites operating in South Africa and across the world. The commission grants licenses for online casinos, poker sites and sportsbooks to operate from Kahnawake and follows up with regular testing and regulatory procedures.

Licenses are granted according to the following three requirements: that only suitable entities are permitted to operate, that games are fair to players and that all winners are paid.

The application fee for an online gambling license is 5,000 Canadian dollars. If the application is successful the gaming provider will receive a license permitting it to operate its site for a period of two years.
